The red Zwergbärbling (lat. Boraras Merah) is native to Southeast Asia. He reached only a petite body size of about 2.5 cm. However, its beautiful coloring makes him still a valued aquarium inhabitants. On the front side of the body of the red Zwergbärblings an oval patch of dark color is drawn, which is surrounded by a pink collar. This pink coloration may extend to the tail section. Its natural habitat are fast flowing waters with clearly acidic pH. Here he can be seen in flocks of more than a thousand fish. Also for aquarium maintenance is a vital swarm of at least 10 animals. At the food he makes no great claims. Since the red Zwergbärbling the mouth can not open very far, the food must only be small enough.
